This design provides an enhanced fit by better matching the characteristic symmetry of the average foot. Garmont Add features •First metatarsal accommodation Creates more room for the big toe. As a result, more space fort he normal, relaxed position of the toe equals greater comfort. Freedom for this toe allows the foot to enact its own mechanism which provides stability, cushioning and efficient propulsion. •Asymmetrical closure system Forefoot lacing that crossed the foot at an angle similar to the toe joints encourages the footwear to flex like your foot. •Lateral tongue post Lateral half of the tongue is thickened which provides a more intimate, anatomical fit, thus resulting in better control and stability with less tongue drift. •Asymmetrical cuff height Cuff is lower on the lateral side for comfort during heel strike and taller on medial side for support when climbing and scrambling and also, aids in resisting lateral ankle sprains. •Differential maleolar pads Heel pads that are asymmetrical medial to lateral, just as most anklebones are which compliments heel security by providing a more anatomical and accurate fit around the ankle bones. ; Comfortable microfiber upper with strategically placed mesh for enhanced airflow. ; Breathable Garmont QDS lining. ; Lightweight Compression-molded EVA for fast-paced flexibility. ; Shock absorption cell in the heel strike area provides maximum protection with minimum weight. ; TPU spine with specific zones to achieve specific functions • Heel stability. • Decrease of initial pronation at midfoot and sidewall protection. • Forefoot protection from anatomically angled grid for natural flex. ; Vibram TSO outsole featuring perimeter lugs that help provide stability and heel security while descending. Vibram TSO consists of compression molded-EVA for lightweight and fast paced flexibility. A shock absorption cell in the heel strike area provides the maximum protection with minimum weight. A TPU plate adds stability, supportive flex and side wall protection. And finally, semi-clocked heel and toe area.
